Have you always wondered what it's like to breathe underwater? If you want to try scuba diving, but aren't quite ready to take the plunge into a certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is for you. You can try scuba close to home or while you're on vacation at a dive destination. While not a scuba certification course, Discover Scuba Diving is a quick and easy introduction to what it takes to explore the underwater world. To sign up for a PADI Discover Scuba Diving experience, you must be at least 10 years old. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but you need to be in reasonable physical health. The PADI Seal Team is for young scuba divers who are looking for action-packed fun in a pool by completing exciting AquaMissions. Have you ever wondered what it's like to dive with flashlights, take digital pictures underwater or float effortlessly like an astronaut? Beyond learning basic scuba skills, there are specialty AquaMissions, such as wreck diving, navigation, buoyancy, environmental awareness and more. PADI Seal Team includes doing some cool stuff in the pool, meeting friends and sharing in the adventure of the underwater world. To join the PADI Seal Team, a child must be 8 years of age or older. No prior experience with scuba diving is necessary, but kids should be comfortable in the water. Parental approval is required.

The Open Water Diver certification gives you access to vast oceans and your local lakes and quarries. This entry-level certification allows you to participate in many supervised and unsupervised dive activities. You will probably want to take additional training later, but Open Water Scuba Diver certification will start you on your way to many exciting underwater adventures. During the confined water and open water dives, you will learn how to assemble, operate and break down your scuba kit. You will also learn basic scuba skills such as mask and regulator clearing, buoyancy control, emergency air management, and dive planning.

Nitrox is a breathing gas that has a lot of benefits for both new and experienced divers. Benefits include longer bottom times, shorter surface intervals, longer repetitive dive times, and reduced post-dive exhaustion. Through a hands-on, active learning session, this course covers the use of nitrox mixtures from 22 to 40 percent oxygen.

Divers are intensely fascinated by navigation. It allows them to make their way back to a special spot discovered on an earlier dive. They use the tricks and techniques of navigation to find an ideal exit point at the end of a dive without the need for an uncomfortable surface swim. Your SDI Underwater Navigation Specialty course will help you overcome the obstacles inherent to finding your way underwater. You will learn how easy and simple navigation can be and how it will help you both above and below the surface. During this course, you will review natural aids such as sand ripples or reef formations, which can accurately predict your route. Tools such as mechanical or digital compasses are a surprising challenge to the novice but we will help you unravel the challenge and teach the practical skills and techniques you?ll need to use them effectively.

Many interesting sights lay just beyond open water diver training limits such as beautiful wall dives, shipwrecks, and critters that don't come into the shallows. The purpose of this course is to provide the necessary training to plan and execute dives that are beyond the depth range experienced during an Open Water Scuba Diver course, specifically beyond 18 metres/60 feet and to a maximum depth of not greater than 40 metres/130 feet. By the end of the course, your knowledge, awareness, and comfort level with deep diving activities will have increased.
